Melius: Latin for improvement.
Melius Consultants is the brainchild of Tamanya Mukherjee and Kanad Maitra. Their combined experiences and learnings spanning different geographies as well as multiple domains gave rise to the Melius way of adding value by improving businesses through their processes, people and systems.
Tamanya Mukherjee, Director - Business Communications
A first generation entrepreneur whose work with the US Consulate Kolkata was recognised by the US Department of State by nominating her in the Department of State sponsored exchange programme Indian Women Entrepreneurs as drivers of Economic Growth. The programme was part of prestigious International Visitor Leadership Programme – IVLP (https://exchanges.state.gov/non-us/program/international-visitor-leadership-program-ivlp). IVLP counts amongst its alumni eminent personalities like Indira Gandhi, Margaret Thatcher, Pratibha Patil, Tony Blair, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Nikolas Sarkozy amongst others.
Currently part of the training team imparting Business Communication training for Young Adults for the American Library (formerly USIS) under the Vikramshila grant scheme.
Tamanya completed her Masters from the University of Sussex. She lived and worked in the UK for 4 years with her first job in Brighton entailing close interaction with UK majors like Tesco, Carphone Warehouse, Imperial Tobacco. That was followed by a stint in the International Travel Industry. Before co-founding Melius Consultants she was associated with an Australian organisation where she not only headed the pre-sales team but also mentored them in their interaction with clients across the globe. Voice accent and customer relationship training is her forte across different and diverse groups.
Kanad Maitra, Director - Operations
Kanad is a certified Project Management Professional (PMI-PMP) with 20 years of work experience across UK, Australia, South East Asia and India. Major assignments within the 7 year UK stint include Process improvement & system implementation for large UK corporates like British Telecom, Royal Mail, Tesco, Lloyds TSB Bank, University College London Hospital, B&Q, Dixons, Focus among others. Business Process consulting accomplishments in the Australian perspective include successful projects with GE ANZ, Vodafone, Queensland University and TransGrid. Indian experience highlights include engagement as Project Management Consultant to Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIMC).
Designed and developed a Business Communications curriculum keeping in mind the fresh recruits for any organisation. This training was imparted by Kanad in various organisations he worked for and met with great success in the target group.
Apart from internal trainings he also delivered multiple multiday trainings internationally ranging from Sanofi in Singapore to Townsville City Council in Australia.
Before co-founding Melius Consultants he was associated with an Australian organisation where he headed overall operations and trained operations personnel in their frequent trips to Australia and South East Asia.
